You probably already have all of the ingredients for this warm cocktail at home, so go ahead and set out your butter to come to room temperature right now. Then you’ll be ready to mix up a batch of Hot Buttered Rum with Ginger to keep you warm during these long, cold winter nights!

This recipe for Hot Buttered Rum is a perfect balance between sweet and spicy!

Hot Buttered Rum With Ginger

Servings: 4

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Salted Butter (If you only have Unsalted Butter add a dash of salt)

1/4 cup plus 2 teaspoons Light Brown Sugar

1/4 cup Honey

3/4 teaspoon Ground Ginger

1/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon Ground Allspice

2 cups Boiling Water

1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

6 ounces Dark Rum

Directions:

1. Bring butter to room temperature.

2. In a medium bowl combine butter, sugar, honey, ground ginger, cinnamon, and allspice. Mix Well.

3. Place butter mixture in a pitcher. (I used the carafe from my coffee maker). Add boiling water, vanilla, and rum. Stir well and serve.

4. Put up your feet and enjoy!
