Ah, during these hot summer nights, there is nothing like a cool Army & Navy Cocktail to cool you down. Bright gin and citrus mixed with smooth, nutty orgeat makes it a perfect porch swing drink.
But how to make it?
We asked Ethan Terry, bar manager at SF's historic Alembic Bar and restaurant. The Army & Navy can be found on the every day menu. And it's easy for us to try to mimic at home. Here is Ethan's recipe:
Army & Navy
1.5 oz Beefeater Gin
.75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
.75 oz Small Hands Foods Orgeat
2 dashes Bitter Truth Decanter Bitters
Combine ingredients with ice in cocktail shaker. Shake, strain into chilled cocktail glass. No garnish.
