An exciting closeout to the Bacon and Beer Weekend 

On Sunday November 10^th, Eat Boston and Denver off the Wagon will take over the space at EXDO Denver Event Center to showcase the 2013 Bacon and Beer Festival from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. As we mentioned yesterday, the revelries of the Bacon and Beer festival have grown through the weekend with a Bacon and Beer Brewer’s Dinner on Saturday and now Industry Denver’s Bacon Beer Cocktail on Sunday night after the festival hosted by the soon-to-open Session Kitchen.

Much like the festival itself, Bacon Beer Cocktail is the first of its kind. Built as the official after-gathering for participating festival chefs and brewers, we couldn’t help ourselves but add an element of excitement to the affair. With Ethanol Strategies, Industry Denver is presenting a light-hearted Iron Chef-style cocktail competition that will challenge Denver’s most reputable cocktail personalities to build cocktails utilizing both bacon and beer as key ingredients. Beer cocktails we’re all familiar with – but what about a bacon cocktail, intrigued yet? We have challenged a handful of the most distinguished barmen and barladies from around the area to step up to the plate for a possible three-round victory in Bacon Beer Cocktail.

Round one will require each bartender to mix off against their competitor head to head, showcasing their best bacon-built cocktail. Judged on flavor and presentation, each competitor will prepare a cocktail for each member of the judging panel judge who will score the presented cocktails individually – requiring a consistent presentation for the win. Winner moves on and the other eliminated.

Round two up next with only half of our original competitors left standing, will require competitors bust out their top beer-built cocktails for the judging panel to taste. The judging elements for round two will be that of the first, present a flavorful, sexy cocktail consistently across the panel of judges – make it or break it.

The championship round judged as the previous two, will pit two final-standing competitors against each other for the victory. The heat is on and competitors in this round will have had to overcome a two-round tunnel vision to prepare. This round marries the previous two and will challenge final competitors to prepare a cocktail built with both bacon and beer.

Our Bacon Beer Cocktail competitors and esteemed members of the judging panel will be announced sooner than we can wait to share.
