Lil' bit of television.

Lil' bit of mixology.

Lil' bit of happiness.

It's the lil' things in life.

When (or if) you decide to build your own bar, take note that it requires more than just going to the store and buying some bottles to fill your shelf. It took me awhile to get my bar to where it is today. A lot of work, a lot of hunting, a lot of research, and more obviously, a lot of money. But I'm happy to have it stand strong as it does now, but still, with much room to grow ("ish" since in reality, my apartment is only so big).

Creating Bar De Bex has been a very fun process for me. And now gives me the freedom that I've always wanted, with the ability to craft to my heart's content whenever I want for whatever reason I have. I can create for the sake of creating. For example, this little guy you see right here. As most know, generally when I make a cocktail I have a story behind it and a trendy name (in my opinion). But you know, sometimes making a cocktail can be just making a cocktail. And though I love putting tales to the taste, this is simply just one of myself watching some good 'ol fashion television, with a shaker and booze in hand.

So from this chill weeknight (in bed before 9:30 kind of evening), here's a little cocktail made up of Gin, Canton and Celery Bitters. This one, I guess I'm referring back to my New Years-esque mini cocktail diet type again. With those celery bitters, it gives this gin and ginger a savory kick to it. So I might not recommend having this one for desert. Maybe for dinner though...

Let's concoct:

  • 1.5 oz Gin
  • 0.5 oz Domaine De Canton (Ginger Liqueur)
  • 2 Dashes of Celery Bitters
*Stir all ingredients with ice in a mixing glass. Strain into a small martini glass. (Optional: Add a slight splash of club soda if you a little bit of fizz)

The real mystery is...what am I watching....?
