BOURBON BABES of the BLUEGRASS
Monday, September 14 & Tuesday, September 15
7:30 p.m. each evening

Eve Theatre Company will perform its original production of Bourbon Babes of the Bluegrass.  This fun and fast-paced special “Eve-vent” pays tribute to the many women who, over the centuries, have contributed significantly to Kentucky’s signature bourbon industry.

Written by Eve Theatre Company member Susan McNeese Lynch, Bourbon Babes tells the personal stories of seven women who have contributed in such ways as being the first to write down a recipe for sour mash, creating a bottle and red wax seal that is now known the world over, and building a bootlegging business that was second to none. Interspersed among the stories of these fascinating women are a series of “Mixers” that add extra history, humor, trivia, cocktail recipes, music, and a little mayhem to the proceedings.

“This is Eve’s way of encouraging new and overdue appreciation for the roles that women played in this very important industry,” said Lynch. “We hope that Bourbon Babes will change the way people see bourbon, right down to how to sip a Mint Julep.”

Under the direction of Kate Larken, who also appears in the show, the cast for Bourbon Babes of the Bluegrass includes, Hazel Bartlett, Kim Butterweck, Lynch, Gilmer McCormick, Kate Scinta, and Diane Stretz-Thurmond.

Tickets are $30 per person.
