Labor Day Cocktail Recipes

Labor Day in the United States means hanging out at the beach, having a backyard barbecue, or just partying with friends and family. Each year most people get a day off from the grind to enjoy this working mans holiday (except for Service Industry, we don't get any holidays off) however they choose to. Beer and margaritas would be an excellent choice, but if you are wanting to kick up your holiday some, I have come up with some out-of-the-norm Labor Day Cocktail Recipes that would be excellent for this holiday. Please feel free to let me know what you think in the comments below.
Sun Kissed
- 1 1/2 oz Ménage a Trois Citrus Vodka
- 3/4 oz Blood Orange Juice
- 3/4 oz Sparkling Wine
- Shake and strain Ménage a Trois Citrus and blood orange juice into a champagne flute; top with cold sparkling wine and garnish with an orange twist.
Midsummer Martini
2 1/2 oz Menage a Trois Berry Vodka2 Dashes Dry Vermouth3 Fresh RaspberriesAdd ice to a shaker, then Ménage à Trois Berry Vodka and two dashes of vermouth. Shake, and pour into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with 3 raspberries.
A Farewell Bliss
1 1/2 oz Ménage a Trois Straight Vodka1/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice1 1/4 oz Lavender TonicCombine all ingredients over ice and stir; garnish with a lime wedge.
Porch-Side Paloma
1 1/2 oz QUI Tequila1 oz Grapefruit Juice1 oz Fresh Lime Juice1/2 oz Jalapeno SyrupSalt for GarnishCombine ingredients into shaker and fill with ice. Shake for 5 seconds and strain into a rocks glass. Sprinkle salt on top.
*Honey-Jalapeño Syrup: Combine 1 cup honey, ½ cup water and 3 slices (or more, depending on how hot you like it!) of jalapeño in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Stir, take off heat, strain & refrigerate.
Summer Bridge
1 1/2 oz Maker's Mark Bourbon2 oz Peach Nectar (Available at Grocery Stores)1/2 oz Fresh Lemon JuiceClub SodaAdd ingredients into a shaker and fill half way with ice. Shake for 5 seconds. Strain into rocks glass and top with soda.
