Not sure if notorious moonshiner Popcorn Sutton ever served Mai Tais to guests at his home, but if he did I would like to think he wouldn't have used rum. This recipe incorporates Sutton's white whiskey into the ever classic Mai Tai. The Mai Tai came into popularity in the 60's and continued hard into the 70's and today. It is synonymous with the island party theme. So to get ready for summer we have decided to take this classic island drink and make it a little more Southern.
1.5 ounces Popcorn Sutton Moonshine
1 ounce Housemade Orgeat Syrup
.5 ounce Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur
.5 ounce simple syrup
.5 ounce Orange Juice
.5 ounce Grapefruit Juice
3 drops of orange water
Shake over ice till cold in a shaker and strain over crushed ice in a tall highball glass with fruit garnish.
