The Negroni is a beloved cocktail at Chez Us. Loved for being playful as well as sophisticated, and it is pleasant enough to enjoy during the winter or the summer. We thought it would be a great addition to a romantic evening at home, or maybe a pre-dinner drink on Valentine’s evening.

The Negroni was invented in Florence, Italy around 1919 in a little cafe called Caffee Rivoire. It is slightly bitter but still refreshing. The bitterness comes from using Campari which is an alcoholic liqueur that is made from an infusion of herbs and fruit such as chin otto and cascarilla. It can be served straight up in a cocktail glass or on the rocks as we prefer to enjoy it.
