With all this training for the Boston Marathon, it has been quite some time since I have devoted a post to Skinny and/or Healthy Cocktails! So I’m very happy to report today that I have three brand new, skinny and pseudo healthy cocktails for you to try out this weekend!
The Inspiration Behind The Recipes for these New Skinny and Healthy Cocktails?
If you follow me on Twitter or SkinnyTinis on FaceBook, you know I’m a member of the Smirnoff Hub. I feel pretty cool about that relationship because the brand has really been great to work with — it’s a fabulously mutually beneficial relationship! And the best part? Free Booze! Yes, more delicious free vodka than this girl can drink. So it’s time to start dishing out and serving up more SkinnyTinis. I did write the book after all, this is a trait I often forget I have these days. We leveraged the Oscars last weekend as the perfect opportunity to share the Smirnoff wealth and refresh my skinny mixologist skills. You know what? It’s like riding a bike — you just never forget. I can still shake up killer healthy cocktails with very little trial and error these days!
Healthy Cocktail #1: The Skinny Mini Cosmo
- 1 1/2 oz Smirnoff Sorbet Light Lemon
- 1 1/2 oz Diet Ginger Ale
- 2 oz Light Cranberry Juice
- Splash Fresh Lime Juice
Calories: 90 calories per 5 oz — woot! You only need to dance for like 15 min to burn this one off!
Directions: Add vodka and juice to a shaker with ice and shake for 5-10 seconds to chill and mix. Strain into a martini glass, top with ginger-ale, garnish with a lime wheel and serve!
Healthy Cocktail #2: The Bee’s Knees
- 1 1/2 oz Smirnoff Wild Honey Vodka
- 2 1/2 oz Crystal Light Lemonade
- 1/2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- Dash of Ground Cinnamon
Calories: 103 calories per 5 oz. This one refreshing and invigorating!
Directions: Add vodka, juice and cinnamon to a shaker with ice and shake for 5-10 seconds to chill and mix. Strain into a martini glass, garnish with a lemon wheel and serve!
Sweet with wild honey and slightly soured by fresh lemon. Refreshing with a bite — just like a little stinger
Healthy Cocktail #3: The Skinny Latte Martini
- 1 1/2 oz Smirnoff Cinna-Sugar Vodka
- 2 oz Strongly Brewed Coffee
- 1 1/2 oz Light Almond Milk
Calories: 106 calories per 5 oz. This one is like desert! The girl scout cookie is not included in the calorie count however
Directions: Add vodka, cooled coffee and almond milk with ice to a shaker and shake for 5-10 seconds to chill and mix. Strain into a martini glass, garnish with a cookie or simply dust with raw cocoa powder and serve!
So there you have it! Three brand new, delicious, skinny and yes — dare we even call them healthy cocktails! Do you have a favorite way to skimp on calories or boost the nutrition in your cocktails? I’d love to hear about it!
While no martini glasses are presently in the hands of these fine guests, these were my tasters for the evening! #pretty people #thecoolkids
