When mixing with the powerful bite of the FEW Standard Issue Gin, you want to make sure you’re complementing the complexity of the base spirit. With that extra bit of bite you can really let the flavors run rampant with your mixers, because it’s going to be able to stand up well enough on its own.
We decided to play off one of our personal favorites – the Sazerac. Beautiful in its simplicity, the Sazerac relies on the powerful spiciness of rye. The North Shore similarly relies on the power of the gin to stand up to the heavier flavors playing along.
North Shore
- 3 oz FEW Standard Issue Gin
- Splash absinthe
- Juice from 1/4 lemon
- 2 dashes Peychauds bitters
- Lemon twist to garnish
Take a frozen rocks glass and rinse it with the absinthe. Add an ice ball to the glass and then add the gin, bitters, and juice. Stir well and serve.
