Every once and awhile I like to make a cocktail that tests me on mixing abilities. I recently came across Nosotros Blood + Sand, a red, smokey Margini (Margarita Martini) made with Nosotros Tequila. It looked beyond delicious.

This is a take on a ‘margini’ is the Smoke on the Water created by Garh Dokken of the Craft House in Dana Point, CA. The festive, smokey cocktail features Nosotros Reposado, notes of luxardo cherries, vanilla, and blood orange topped with a charcoal eggwhite foam (my fav).

The tequila in this is Nosotros Tequila, a premium tequila company based in the heart of Hermosa Beach, California, and produced in Mexico. Nosotros Blood + Sand

¾ oz Nosotros Reposado

¾ oz orange juice (preferably blood orange)

¾ oz cherry heering

¾ oz dry vermouth

3 dash vanilla extract

Shake and double strain into a chilled coupe

Garnish with an orange peel and a cherry
