We're not sure about you, but these hot, summer days call for mint juleps! We headed down to Novela—one of San Francisco's newest hotspots—where bar manager Alex Smith (formerly of the opening team at Smugglers Cove and Honor Bar) showed us how to make their house julep variation. The Leopold Bloom is a bright and yummy mix of hibiscus-infused gin, pineapple syrup, muddled mint, and a small squeeze of grapefruit.
Watch Alex show us how it's done:
The recipe:
6-8 mint leaves
.5 oz pineapple syrup
2 oz hibiscus-infused gin
1 grapefruit medallion
