When you think 5 de Mayo you think Margaritas and Guacamole, at least I do. Well, there is nothing wrong with that! Who doesn’t like that.

For this post though I am going to deviate a little and I am going to be making a different cocktail.

The Paloma is a simple 3 ingredient cocktial. Is just like making a highball with a few changes.

I am taking this recipe from the Jim Meehan PDT book, which was taken from David Wondrich’s Killer Cocktails book and adding an extra step of my own. Hope you enjoy it!

PLOMA

2 oz Reposado tequila

0.5 oz lime juice

In a tall glass, pour the ingredients. Add a pinch of salt, then add the ice and top off with Squirt or Jarritos Grapefuif. I used Jarritos.

Garnish with a lime and grapefruit.

Optional:

Rim the glass with grapefruit salt.

Grapefruit salt:

Mix together 2:1 salt with the zest of grapefruit.
