EYE
Copper

NOSE
Honied apples; raw malt, oily spice, yeasty biscuits, hay, toffee taffy and a light bit of citrus and copper. The sweet malt heavy quality of the nose is perfectly pleasant.

PALATE
Copper fruit; Hay-like malt, spice, biscuits, toffee and a light earthy tone. Not quite as dynamic as the nose, but enjoyable just the same.

FINISH
Medium fizzle of malt, copper, dried fruit and vanilla sweetness.

BALANCE, BODY & FEEL
Ok balance, medium body and a light syrupy feel.

OVERALL
Paul John Brilliance Single Malt has a solid malt forward character that’s lovely, but limited.I’ve had Paul John at a lot of events over the last year and it’s been fun to get to try so many expressions of this whisky but this is the first time I’ve been able to just sit and enjoy one of their expressions.Being the flagship expression I wasn’t expecting too much and while it’s not insanely complex there’s definitely nothing to complain about. It’s warm, malty and has just enough heat to let you know it’s not toothless.
