Dear fellas and booze scientists, this is a very special post for me because I'm going to display a drink that has been standing it's ground since my current workplace opened, two years ago. During those two years the menu has been changed, many drinks vanished and have been replaced by new ones. As well we're slinging new libations every day off the menu, but no matter what we do this drink didn't lost it's popularity. There is rarely a day when it's not ordered at least once. And the most astonishing fact... we didn't pushed it at all. Perhaps it's the name or the listed ingredients sound appealing to our guests because this little tipple won't get out of the way.

Rasta in Japan:

Mint 8 leafs
Rum 1 1/2 oz
Melon liqueur 3/4 oz
Fresh squeezed lime juice 1/2 oz
Orgeat syrup 1/2 oz
  • Old fashioned
  • Shake Strain
  • Mint spring
This drink was brought to us by my colleague Ciprian Stefan when he first opened the bar. He was picturing what happens when Jamaican rum meets the melon liqueur (use a white rum here) and it seems is pure delight. This drink has everything, wonderful molasses notes, funky melon, light acidity and a cool aftertaste. It seems it never ends!
Lots of thanks Cipri for bringing us this wonderful drink!
Respect!
