I have been searching for a way to combine bourbon with elderflower and finally captured a way to make it work with this drink. The high content of rye in Basil Hayden's makes for a perfect complement to the St. Germain. It is a drink I have been searching for and would enjoy any time of year or for any occasion.

Ingredients

2 ounces Basil Hayden's
1 ounce St. Germain
1 dash Aromatic Bitters
.5 Ounce Brown sugar simple syrup
2 ounces Ginger beer

Directions

In a mixing glass combine brown sugar simple syrup, bitters, St. Germain and Basil Hayden's add ice and stir gently for 15-20 seconds. Pour over fresh ice in a highball glass and fill with ginger beer. Garnish with fresh orange peel and enjoy!
