The Perfect Cocktail to Keep You Warm This Winter

The annual Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza in Brainerd, Minnesota draws tens-of-thousands of tip-up-watchers from the world-over. Before sliding your shanty onto the ice angling for the top prize, be sure to pack the key to any worthwhile survival kit: your flask. Here’s a suggestion for a classic winter cocktail that won’t require a lot of effort for a quick warm-up.
Combine these in a coffee cup:
- Bourbon
- Hot Tea
- The slice of one lemon
- Spice of some kind. If you remembered to pack cloves great, if not, a pinch of the black pepper and salt you'll have to prepare the day's catch would work... in a pinch.
And before you head out onto the ice to fish or do anything really, remember the old adage: "Thick and blue, tried and true. Thin and crispy, way too risky."
