Signature Cocktails From NYC's Historic Roosevelt Hotel

Stepping through the doors of the Roosevelt Hotel is like stepping into history. The hotel opened on September 22nd 1924, and is complete with (a now closed) secret train tunnel under the hotel leading to nearby Grand Central, as one Gothamist writer discovered. The hotel even has the air of Old Hollywood, and was featured in many motion pictures including "The French Connection" and "Wall Street".
90 years later the hotel still manages to keep up with the time with modern lure. mad46 Rooftop Lounge is a hidden oasis under the Manhattan skyline, located 19 stories above our historic hotel. The crowed is trendy and gorgeous making the chic rooftop lounge and the place to sip with midtown’s sexiest after-work crowd.
And, their signature craft cocktails are something to be savored. The curators of the cocktails were a collaboration between mad46 bartenders Tristan Prescott, Nandini Sonnad, and Cain Callender. Here are some secret select craft cocktail recipes from The Roosevelt Hotel. These one of a kind drinks are perfect for summer rooftop gatherings:
Mad Smash
2 oz Maker46 Bourbon | 10.5OZ MAKER 46 |
1 oz Pama Liquer | 5.25OZ PAMA |
1 oz Honey | 5.25OZ HONEY |
1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice | 5.25 OZ LEMON JUICE |
Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously for 10sec. pout over ice into a rocks glass
Teddy Roosevelt
2oz Woodford Reserve Bourbon | 10.5oz Woodford Reserve Bourbon |
1 oz Simple Syrup | 5.25oz Simple Syrup |
4 Mint leaves | 21 Mint leaves |
Place mint leaves and simple syrup in a glass. Gently press leaves against glass with bacl of spoonto release flavors. Fill glass with ice , pour bourbon over the ice. Insert straw and garnish with mint leaf
Grand Dame
1 oz Mount Gay Black Barrel | 5.25oz Mount Gay Black Barrel |
.75 oz Campari | 4 oz Campari |
1 oz Sweet Vermouth | 5.25 oz Sweet Vermouth |
.25 oz Marachino Liquoer | 1.3 oz Marachino Liquoer |
2 dashes Orange bitters | 10.5 dashes Orange bitters |
Serve over ice with a slice of orange peel. | Serve over ice with a 5 slice of orange peel. |
Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. shake and strain into a martini glass
