Summer just can’t come to an end without sipping white sangria on a sunny afternoon. And since I can only make skinny drinks, this is a SkinnyTini of the highest caliper!
What inspired my Skinny White Sangria?
My great friends have opened up the most amazing bed and breakfast resort in Temecula called Que Syrah. It’s a one of those charming places you always want to go to and never want to leave. And my friends Mike and David are just wonderful, gracious hosts making the resort even more inviting. It’s a little more than an hour outside of San Diego, and they hosted their open house this weekend. We pulled together a quick carpool and met at my place. I whipped up a batch of this so quick, and it was so delicious that I knew I had to write about it!
Skinny White Sangria Recipe
- 1 bottle of white wine (the sweeter and cheaper the better)
- 1 cup of white rum
- 1 cup light orange juice
- 2-4 cups of soda water (depends on how “refreshing” you like)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup fresh pineapple diced and frozen
- 1 cup frozen red grapes
- 1 cup frozen peaches or nectarines
Directions:
Add wine, rum, orange juice, cinnamon, and soda water to a pitcher and stir. You can use your judgement for how much soda water want. It is the skinny agent, so the more you use, the skinnier your sangria. But you also don’t want to over dilute your beverage either. Add frozen fruit and mix well.
To Serve:
Fill a decorative glass with ice. Add 7 oz of white sangria, and a good serving of fruit to each glass. Cheers and enjoy these last bits of summer!
Calories:
Using the recipe above with 4 cups of soda water, it would make 10, 7oz servings with 139 calories each and 26% of your vitamin C!
Cheers!
