Skittles

Four readers love this post.
Spring is in full swing dear fellas!
Because we're now on the right season I am going to write about a drink very dear to me. Although I like this drink a lot it`s not only about the flavor or ingredients, it is not even mine, is about the guy that made it, Alin Cristian Sorescu.
He was and still is one of the pioneers of Romanian craft bartending and the only real mixologist of my hometown. Nowadays I see more and more people that claim they are mixologists, but honestly they don't have a clue what they are talking about. The reason this guy earned all my respect, leaving aside all his moral principles and his characteristics, is that he's making drinks not bullshit!
Practical, well executed and tasty!

Skittles:
Raspberry vodka 1 1/2 oz
Blackberry liqueur 1/4 oz
Fresh squeezed lime juice 3/4 oz
Elderflower syrup 1/4 oz
Violette syrup 1/2 oz
Cranberry juice 1 1/2 oz
- Collins
- Shake Strain
- Forest fruits and mint
This is a very original reinterpretation on that highly abused Verry Berry. This is the refined version, very well balanced and grown up.
In my opinion very well suited for chilling in the garden on a warm spring day.
Besides that, the interesting fact is that when you sip on it is like you're getting one skittle candy at a time. Yes, in a really fast sequence, but flavor comes in layers.
In my opinion this is the real mixological artistry, when taste lasts and you're being surprised with every sip.
Complexity through simplicity my dear fellas.
