Skyy Infusions Texas Grapefruit Skyy Infusions Texas Grapefruit: a step above your standard flavored vodka

Skyy Texas Grapefruit Review

Skyy Infusions Texas Grapefruit has enough grapefruit flavor and fragrance to stand alone. I’m not kidding: put this stuff on ice, and you have what tastes like a cocktail right there. Add some Angostura bitters, and it’s even better. Put it in a punch, and you have a crowd pleaser. It’s hard to go wrong with Skyy’s newest infusion. Besides, when you start with Texas grapefruit, it’s gotta be good.

How is it in a cocktail?

Like I said: Skyy Texas Grapefruit doesn’t need much, so I wanted to make a simple cocktail with it, almost like a Cosmopolitan. I combined it with bianco vermouth and lime juice to make the Sundance cocktail, and it turned out nice and bright and utterly drinkable. My wife, though, she wanted something a bit sweeter, so I added just a touch of pineapple juice to make it even more like a Cosmopolitan.

To make the Sundance cocktail, combine with ice:

  • 2 oz Skyy Infusions Texas Grapefruit
  • 1/2 oz bianco vermouth
  • 1/2 oz lime juice

and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Add a sliver of lime for an additional bit of bright, and you have two cocktails that are complex enough for the discerning drinker, yet oh so easy to drink.
