St. Patrick’s Day is more than just leprechaun’s and green beer. It’s also about whiskey. Lots of whiskey. So this year, put down that beer and pick up a good St. Patrick’s Day cocktail. Here, we’ve got three.

First up: a delightful whiskey smash recipe courtesy of Yellowtail Sunset in West Hollywood.

GINGER SMASH

2 oz Reilly’s Rock & Rye Ginger Whiskey
.75 oz Bertina Elderflower
.75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
.5 oz Agave Syrup
.25 oz Yuzu Juice
2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
6-8 Mint Leaves

Shake all ingredients with ice, then fine strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with a lemon wheel and mint sprig.

Bradys Milk Punch

BRADY’S MILK PUNCH

1.5 oz Brady’s Irish Cream
.75 oz Clontarf Irish Whiskey
.5 oz Oloroso sherry
.25 oz Giffard Vanilla Liqueur
.5 oz Half and half

Add all ingredients to a punch glass over ice, and garnish with freshly-grated cinnamon.

Barmbrack Sour

BARMBRACK SOUR

50 ml Tullamore D.E.W. Original
20 ml fresh lemon juice
1 barpoon quality apricot jam
15 ml egg white
1 pinch cinnamon powder
2 dashes angostura bitters
1 barspoon castor sugar

Shake first four ingredients vigorously, then strain into a coupe. Garnish with crushed toasted pecans and a light dusting of freshly-grated nutmeg.
