Summer Cocktail Trends from the 71st Annual WSWA Convention

The top industry talent and brands came together to showcase their skills and create unique summer cocktails at the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America 71st Annual Convention & Exposition's in Las Vegas earlier this month. Brands and mixologists were judged by industry experts on creativity, flavor profile and overall appearance. We hope you enjoy some of these great cocktails utilizing the brands of our exhibitors to celebrate the summer season.
Call for Cocktails, Mixology Competition Winner The Tainted Lady with PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur – created by Lynn House of Heaven Hill Distilleries
Ingredients:
1.0 oz PAMA
1.5 oz Hidalgo Patrana Manzanilla
.75 oz TAZA Organic Chai Tea
.20 oz simple syrup
3 dashes of Fee Brothers Old
Instructions: Combine all ingredients except bittters in a mixing glass, ice, and shake until well chilled. Top with bitters and gently stir. Strain cocktail into a cocktail glass, zest a fresh piece of orange peel and express oils on top of the cocktail and discard. Garnish with an orange twist and brandied cherry intertwined together.

Iron Mixologist Competition Winner, Best Long Drink, Hot and Bothered

Ingredients:
1.5 oz Ron Zacapa Centenario 23 year old Solera Rum
1/2 oz Ancho Reyes Chili Liqueur . serrano chili (seeded)
1 oz fresh lime juice . oz Clément Sirop de Canne
2-3 dash Fee Brothers Old Fashioned Aromatic Bitters Fresh mint
Instructions: Combine all ingredients and garnish with Purple orchid, mint sprig and shaved nutmeg in a Collins glass

Ingredients:
2.5 oz Double Black IPA
1 oz Dobel Reposado Tequila
.5 oz Agave Light Nectar
.5 oz Lime Juice Peat Monster Rinse of the glass Garnish with Lime wheel
Instructions: Build all ingredients in a mixing glass (except the Peat monster), add ice and shake, double strain into a chilled coupe that has been rinsed with the peat monster. Garnish with a lime wheel and serve in a Coupe glass
