We hope you're enjoying the summer so far, drinking up the sunshine and getting some well-earned R&R at the park or beach. It's a bummer when you work hard from Monday through Friday, putting in the long hours, putting up with all the stress and anxiously awaiting the weekend only to have rain ruin your plans. Don't let bad weather rain on your summertime parade. Curl up on the couch and catch up on your reading or favorite shows with one of these delectable drinks that will make you feel like you're vacationing in the tropics.

1. Hemingway Getaway Cocktail

The Artful Desperado was inspired to concoct this cocktail by Ernest Hemingway's Havana house, which he describes as "a total retro gem full of lush vegetation, beautiful light and tropical vibes." Yeah, we want that in a glass and pronto. You can find his recipe, which he created for West Elm, in the company's blog, Front & Main.

2. Rum Punch

This fairly basic drink created by Inspired by Charm looks like sunshine in a glass. One sip and you can almost taste a fabulous Caribbean vacation. The grenadine sinks to the bottom and a little bit of dark rum floats to the top, producing a gorgeous ombre effect. Beautiful and delicious.

3. Hula Dancer

Announcing It wanted to create a special summertime cocktail. One sip of the Hula Dancer and you'll be transported to a sandy beach in the tropics.

4. Vodka Mint Lemonade or Limeade

Laylita's Recipes whipped up this easy recipe for vodka mint lemonade or limeade, made with either lemons or limes, fresh mint, sugar or honey, water, ice and vodka to taste. It takes fewer than 10 minutes to quarter the limes, blend them with the mint leaves, water, sugar/honey and ice, then strain them, add in some more water and vodka and serve with extra ice, lime slices and mint leaves.

5. El Presidente

Cuba's penchant for rum, particularly the white variety, gave birth to drinks such as the Mojito and the Daiquiri. But another Cuban drink is the El Presidente cocktail. Kitchen Riffs explains that there are a few variations of this cocktail, but the classic combines white rum with dry vermouth and orange curaçao.

6. Blueberry Salty Dog

If you ask Heather Christo what the best part of this cocktail is — aside from the stunning color — she'd say it's definitely the name. How can you resist a salty dog? The sweet blueberries balance the bitter grapefruit, and of course gin makes everything better.

7. Bourbon Peach Basil Smash

Forget the cream, says The Girl in the Little Red Kitchen, it’s peaches and bourbon that belong together. Who are we to disagree?

8. The Spicy Paloma

The traditional paloma (Spanish for "dove") cocktail is a simple mix of grapefruit soda and tequila. The Horticult opted to use fresh grapefruit. The refreshing tartness of grapefruit, the spiciness of jalapeño, the subtle sweetness from the agave nectar, the complexity and smokiness of mezcal and the fizz of the soda all combine in a lush drink that will make you feel like you're poolside at a resort with nary a care in the world.

9. Elderflower and Strawberry Spritzer

Put those ripe strawberries to good use and smash them in a tall glass, combine with some elderflower cordial, a generous measure of white wine and sparkling water on top. Stir and devour, instructs The Pink Patisserie.

10. Cucumber Gin & Tonic

Looking to stay as cool as a cucumber? Well, get a load of this refreshing spin on the classic G+T from The Kitchen Is My Playground. Simply muddle a few slices of cucumber in a cocktail glass before adding the gin and tonic, and savor the subtle cucumber goodness.

11. The Firecracker: Watermelon, Lime and Cucumber Cocktail

Creative Culinary combines watermelon and lime with some cucumber vodka for a refreshing drink. If you can’t find cucumber vodka, just add a couple of slices of cucumber when you muddle together with the lime and watermelon — it should do the job nicely.

12. Blueberry Coconut Sparkler

One sip of this blueberry coconut sparkler from One Dash Spiced at a Time will make you feel like you're on a Caribbean cruise.
