Since I’m trying to finish off the batch of cucumber water I made a few days ago I decided to push the limits of my hubby’s palate and entice him to drink some gin. He’s usually not very excited when I make a Negroni (one of my favorite cocktails) so I just assumed that his aversion was to the gin, but I discovered this evening that it’s actually the Campari he’s not fond of….we’ll have to sort that out some other time because it’s my go-to aperitif.

I decided that I wanted to use Hendrick’s Gin so I was immediately drawn to the bottle of rose water in my bar. There was a bottle of mint simple syrup in my fridge as well, so I decided to make a variation of a Gimlet that I’m going to call a Gremlin as an homage to a friend’s dog named Gimlet….who’s nickname is Gremlin. Cheers!

The Gremlin
56 ml Hendrick’s Gin (essential here because of the rose and cucumber in Hendrick’s)
28 ml Cucumber Water
2.5 ml Mint Simple Syrup
2 drops Peychaud’s Bitters

Directions
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake gently and serve up with a rose petal or cucumber wheel.
