ABOUT THE KELOWNA

The Kelowna is a cocktail inspired by the beautiful city of its namesake, which is located in the Okanagan in British Columbia, Canada. This city is home to Mission Hill Winery, a stunning vineyard known for its wide range of wines. However, in addition to making wines, Mission Hill is also the resting place for Bearface Whisky.

Sourced from distilleries in Ontario, this single grain distillate is the sent over 4,000 kilometres to mature in three types of barrels for a minimum of 7 years. The use of ex-Bourbon American Oak barrels, ex-red wine barrels made from European Oak and Virgin Hungarian oak create a unique flavour profile that is spicy, nutty, savoury and fruity.

In this cocktail, the red maple reduction (made with a Cab/Merlot wine and maple syrup) really accentuates the red fruit notes in the whisky and add tannins to dry out the drink. The nocino complements the nutty notes, resulting in a surprisingly robust, full-bodied cocktail that's perfect for any season.
