The Passion Fruit Sour

The Passion Fruit Sour cocktail was a submission that we saw in the inbox and just had to create immediately. The concept of bringing an aged rum together with passion fruit in a daiquiri like design was too hard to resist.
While Ian may have leaned on the too sweet Derrick found the sweetness satisfying primarily because of his love for Passion Fruit, especially the passion fruit that has a bit more sweet than tart. However, if purchasing real passion fruit, you never know if you’ll get a super sour tart fruit or a slightly sweet passion fruit flavor.
This cocktail solves that by utilizing B.G. Reynolds’ Passion Fruit to make a consistent flavor for every drink. Utilizing syrups (homemade or store bought) with a consistent recipe usually result in a consistent drink each time you create one.
This drink won’t work the same with natural fruit if you don’t create a syrup for it first, it would be a completely different drink.
