The Royal Baby SkinnyTini – A Little Prince

Three readers love this post.
Well it does not seem you can turn on the TV, open a magazine or check your email without seeing something about the new royal baby. And you know what, it is a pretty big deal. the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Kate and William appear to be very charming people and having a baby boy, likely the future King — yup. That’s kind of a big deal on a global scale. Crowds gathered outside Buckingham Palace, in the rain, to get a glimpse of the easel announcing the royal baby was a boy.
While this is all very exciting, I don’t think any of us are headed to stand in the rain anytime soon, but if you were looking for a little way to celebrate locally (and maybe a little bit more fun?), how about the trying out the Royal Baby SkinnyTini, aptly named the Little Prince? Here were the fun factoids I found on the internet that led me to this concoction:
- Royal baby is a boy
- Prince William’s favorite color is blue
- Princess Kate’s favorite color is likely white
- Apparently Kate is a fan of a Pina Colada lookalike, the Monkey Colada
- Neither of them are known for drinking a whole lot
- They served no beer at the Royal Wedding
- They are both very fit and trim and health oriented
Here is how I used that information: I took my skinny Pina Colada base and added a banana. So that serves the monkey and the white. I made it really light on the booze, since the royal family does not get smashed and it keeps it very light in the calories. Top it off with some frozen blueberries and voila – you have antioxidants, fiber and blue!
I’m not going to lie – it’s delicious.
The Royal Baby SkinnyTini – A Little Prince
- 1 oz White Rum
- 2 oz Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
- 1/2 Fresh Banana
- 1/2 cup crushed Ice
- 1/2 oz Sugar Free Coconut Syrup
- 5 Blueberries
Directions: Add all ingredients to the blender and mix on low for 30 seconds then slowly increase speed until well blended. Pour into a champagne flute (why? Because we’re talking royalty here!) and top off with a few frozen or fresh blueberries.
Calories: This yields exactly 8 ounces and is only 138 calories! It also has over 2 grams of fiber, 1 gram of protein and 11% of your daily requirement of calcium. Yes – I’d call this a Royal Cocktail Winner!
Do you have a favorite baby shower cocktail recipe? Or another great low calorie way to incorporate blue into healthy cocktails?
