This version of the Margarita was created at Tommy’s in San Francisco. Is my favorite version of this cocktail. It’s simple, and easy to make... and like the daiquiri, there is something special about 3 ingredient cocktails.

For the one I made, I used Reposado tequila and simple syrup (since I didn’t have agave syrup with me) but you can/should use agave syrup (1:1). Blanco or Reposado works great here. The most important part of the recipe is to make sure you use FRESH lime juice. I juiced mine right before making the cocktial.

Salt on the rim is another “optional” step but I think it works. When making this for guests at home I don’t ask, it automatically gets salt.

Tommy’s Margarita

2 oz Blanco or Reposado tequila

1 oz Fresh Lime Juice

1 oz Agave syrup

Mix all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour over fresh ice in a rocks glass with salt on the rim.
