Tequila is an iconic Mexican delicacy and alcoholic beverage. It also happens to be a go-to and highly respected cocktail almost everywhere, especially in Arizona. Made by distilling fermented blue agave plant juice, tequila is the main liquor in many cocktails like Palomas, Sunrises, and Margaritas.
Arizona is home to some of the most killer margaritas. Whether you're at a restaurant, bar, or anywhere in metropolitan Phoenix or Tucson, chances of coming across these magical drinks are almost guaranteed. What's better than a prickly pear or cucumber margarita? Knowing exactly where to get them. Check out these 4 cocktail bars next time you're in the mood for tequila (and in the state of Arizona).
Rita's Kitchen, Camelback Inn Resort and Spa
This joint is found in the JW Marriott's Camelback Inn Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, AZ. While the hotel itself is pricey, Rita's Kitchen is totally affordable and open to the public. Rita's is located right inside the main lobby of the resort and has both self and valet parking options, making it a great spot for a date night or dinner with friends. The best part about Rita's? The Prickly Pear Margarita - a delicious, hot pink cocktail infused with the prickly pear cactus. This margarita is available by the pitcher, the main reason it made this list, and is also included on the happy hour menu.
What to get: Prickly Pear Margaritas by the pitcher.

Cien Agaves
OK - so this place is a little touristy, but the margaritas are good (and big) enough to make it worthwhile. Sitting smack dab in the middle of Old Town Scottsdale, Cien Agaves is a Mexican restaurant with great food and comfortable atmosphere. However, I recommend this place for their full bar, creative cocktail menu, and extensive tequila list. If tequila is something you'd like to become more knowledgeable on or want to have a party with lots of it, then this is the place for you.

Boca Tacos Y Tequila
Never has there been a better duo than tacos and tequila. Down in Tucson, you'll find Boca, a little joint that has this infamous combination down to a science. Located right outside the Universality of Arizona campus, Boca comes highly recommended by students and locals alike. Once you've tried Boca's tacos, salsas, and $5 margaritas, you'll never venture out for Mexican food again. People are blown away by the drinks, fair prices, and the ever-changing taco menu. Go to Boca Tacos Y Tequila the next time you're balling on a budget and in need of phenomenal food.

Cafe Poca Cosa
Speaking of an ever changing menu, Cafe Poca Cosa will have to take the cake on this one. Owner and chef Suzana Davila cooks up fine Mexican fare and superb margaritas. The menu is written on a chalkboard, consists of about 5-6 options and is never the same. Order the surprise plate and leave it up to Davila to decide which 3 entree samples you'll be enjoying that evening. The drink menu? Just tell them what you like and they'll figure the rest out from there. This is the most unique restaurant/bar in Tucson, maybe even in the entire state of Arizona.
