Vya Bombay Martini

Three readers love this post.
Classic gin Martini. I’m on my own with this drink. Very few I know like gin and even few like dry vermouth. Not everyone likes olives either. But for years, this has been my “go-to” drink, whether it’s shared or taken solo. I’ve always enjoyed slowly sipping this one while snacking on the olives one by one. The gin martini has been with me at significant events in my life. Girls night, engagement photo-shoot (we went Mad Men theme!), my favorite new years, and even when my team wins at a major basketball game.
I was committed to this drink throughout DC and into Boston. Even in establishments that served the best craft cocktails you could imagine, I’d always get my gin martini as this drink was always good to me. Until I had a bad one. Shriveled wrinkly olives, cheap booze, and probably something in there that should not be in any drink. It’s a shame that one poorly made Martini can be so traumatizing. I was heartbroken.
So I shoved off the Martini. Even wouldn’t touch gin. I didn’t want the Vodka martinis either. In the Martini’s place, other classics such as Manhattans and Old Fashioneds took over. Eventually, I missed my Martini. I missed the gin, the vermouth, I missed the salty olives, and botanical crispness. It was what I considered my signature drink, and I wanted it back in my life.
Though I’m cautious and did some digging on what is supposed to be the best gin Martini. I came across this article that suggested Vya Dry Vermoth and Bombay Sapphire Gin. It was well received by the experts so I had to give it a try.
“Savory, light, crisp, almost fruity,” I’d have to agree. The combination is incredibly delightful and reminded me of everything that I missed! The dash of orange bitters makes it extra lovely! Now that we have an understanding: the perfectly matched ingredients at the right ratios make my beloved Martini.
Welcome back, old friend!
