For most imbibers a wine cocktail typically means a version of sangria, and in the summer the impulse to make the Spanish favorite is especially strong.

But there's more to wine cocktails than the fruity favorite. We went to Anfora where Beverage Director Joe Campanale gave us his take on going beyond sangria. He suggests which wine varietals work best in cocktails and then he shows us two recipes for getting started. He starts with a red wine based concoction and then moves on to a sparkling treat that also indulges in a bit of vermouth.
