Wittenberg Door Cocktail

Two readers love this post.
October 31st for most is the celebration for trick or treating, costumes and horror films. What a lot of people don’t realize, is that day is really reformation day! You’ve probably never heard or knew about it but on October 31, 1517 an obscure monk named Martin Luther, who taught theology in Wittenberg Germany nailed his 95 theses to a church door for all to see, which sparked the flame for the protestant reformation. A fact about Luther is that he would sit in the beer gardens and talk theology until the wee hours of the morning with his students.
Today we raise a glass in honor of Martin Luther and reformation day with the Wittenberg Door cocktail. It’s a tasty concoction made with a few simple ingredients and great in the fall or winter, cheers.
2 oz. Applejack or apple brandy
½ oz. Simple syrup
¼ oz. St. Elizabeth’s Allspice Dram
1 oz. Organic pumpkin puree
Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
