As a nation obsessed with football, Caipirinha’s and sex (in that order), it was only a matter of time until someone found a way for Brazilians to combine all three. Introducing the Caipirinha flavoured condom, in support of the 2014 Football World Cup.

Sporting Brazil’s national colours, the yellow and green condom name Prudence is the brainchild of US based firm DKT International and can be purchased at a cost of less than a pound a unit throughout pharmacies and supermarkets nationwide.

According to the Wall Street Journal, 2.1 million units have already been sold since its release in February this year with the initial 864,000 units selling out in just 15 days. With Brazil seeing an average of one billion condoms sold nationwide each year, Prudence brand prophylactic’s are clearly getting a-head of their rivals.

According to digital native news outlet Quartz, the rules surrounding players freedom to have sex during World Cup competitions varies from complete freedom to blanket bans and everything in between. Some teams like Nigeria are restricted from performances of ‘acrobatic’ nature while others like Costa Rica are prohibited from scoring any goals off the pitch until the team reaches the second round.
