3 Tricks To Pulling Off A Killer Holiday Soiree

The holidays are a source of anxiety for everyone it seems and the source of the worry can usually be alleviated by holiday-esque libations. The trick to throwing an amazing event is twofold: making sure it's beautiful and photo-worthy and getting people drunk. Here's how:
1. Decorate like a pro
Let's be honest, if you are throwing a get-together, you are going to make sure your living room & dining areas are Instagram-worthy. If it's not on social media it didn't happen, right? If you are like me and don't have a lot of time to try and piece a gorgeous tablescape together from searching on Pinterest, head over to Laurel & Wolf's blog. Not only do they provide interior design services (that don't break the bank!) but they have a ton of amazing design tips to draw from that are incredibly easy to re-create.
- Spray paint a few tiny pumpkins from the grocery store gold & use them as centerpieces or table accessories
- If you don't have a ton of accessories at home already, invest in a lot of candles of varying sizes. It will look beautiful with leafy greens and your gold accents
- For flower arrangements, go with something more unconventional like including pomegranates, fruits and eucalyptus leaves. Keep the colors in a similar family, but have fun with it.
2. Plan for a takeaway or party favor
My favorite party favors are those you can drink. Get a case of 187ml bottles of champagne and create custom labels.
- Champagne can be purchased online at a variety of places but my go-to is LiquorMart. You can find a cheap option from Korbel, too.
- Labels can be made anywhere, but Etsy has the best I've seen for the price. Plus you don't have to do anything but provide copy.
3. Find an interesting but easy to make drink. You (or your bartender) need to be able to crank these out and impress people at the same time. Mulled wine and eggnog are old school. Let's make this a little more memorable.
