Bobby Burns Cocktail

Bobby Burns

The Bobby Burns exhibits soft and smooth spice with subtle smoke. Of course, the flavour will alter depending on the Scotch whisky you decide to use.

Ingredients

  • 45mL Blended Scotch Whisky (1½ oz)
  • 45mL Sweet Vermouth (1½ oz)
  • 22.5mL Dom Benedictine (¾ oz)

Instructions

  1. Combine the ingredients into your mixing glass
  2. Stir with ice
  3. Strain into a chilled, stemmed cocktail glass
  4. Garnish with a twist of lemon

Rob Roy Cocktail Recipe

Rob Roy (Scotch Manhattan)

The Rob Roy is essentially a Scotch Manhattan. It will be a slightly less sweet version of a classic Manhattan. In my case, it displayed sweet, subtle smoke with honeyed fruit on the palate, courtesy of the Pure Scot Whisky.

Ingredients

  • 45mL Scotch Whisky (1½ oz)
  • 22.5mL Sweet Vermouth (¾ oz)
  • 2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients into your mixing glass
  2. Stir with ice
  3. Strain into a chilled coupe glass
  4. Garnish with a maraschino cherry

Blood Sand Cocktail

Blood & Sand

The Blood & Sand is yet another cocktail featured in Harry Craddock's Savoy Cocktail Book. There are complex flavours of sweet, fresh orange and cherry that are ideal for all Scotch cocktail fans.

Ingredients

  • 22.5mL Scotch Whisky (¾ oz)
  • 22.5mL Sweet Vermouth (¾ oz)
  • 22.5mL Heering Cherry Liqueur (¾ oz)
  • 22.5mL Fresh Orange Juice (¾ oz)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients to your cocktail shaker
  2. Shake with ice
  3. Strain into a chilled coupe glass
  4. Garnish with a twist of orange

Rusty Nail Scotch Cocktail

Rusty Nail

Drambuie's intriguing spices and honey play an integral role in this simple recipe. Personally I like it a little sweeter so I'm a little more heavy handed with the Drambuie, utilising a 2:1 ratio. If you prefer it less sweet, use a 2:1 (whisky:Drambuie) ratio.

Ingredients
  • 45mL Scotch Whisky (1½ oz)
  • 22.5mL Drambuie (¾ oz)

Instructions

  1. Generously add ice to a double old fashioned glas
  2. Add the Drambuie & Scotch Whisky (in your preferred ratio)
  3. Garnish with a citrus twist
