It is often considered to be one of the best parties of the year, whatever the side of the field you are on. Angelenos are always excited when the annual Veuve Polo Classic rides into town. The event that allows the who’s who of Los Angeles to feel like they have stepped into the polo scene from Pretty Woman, and the champagne’s not too bad either. The California sun and Hollywood elite were both out in force for this year’s Veuve Polo Classic and as usual it was one of the best events in the west. For the seventh year in a row, Veuve Clicquot, hosted more than 6,000 Angelenos, celebrities, and polo enthusiasts to the beautiful Will Rogers State Historic Park to celebrate with champagne and enjoy the highly anticipated Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, Los Angeles. The glitzy crowd enjoyed a day of polo watching, picnicking and champagne sipping in support of the event’s longstanding beneficiaries, the Will Rogers State Historic Park and the Will Rogers Ranch Foundation.
As guests were shuttled to the ranch, you were either in general admission, the Rose garden, or fancy in VIP. The event was kicked off with singer Brian Crum singing the National Anthem, before the horses took the field. Each of the event’s three areas had endless pours of Veuve Clicquot bars, but the experience may have felt a little different depending on which side of the field you found yourself on.
Over in VIP, security was tough. Guests were ushered past a Veuve Clicquot flower wall, and dumped into an elegant white tent that was reminiscent of setting you might find in the of South France, with white garden furniture, decked out floral Veuve champagne bars, mirrored tables, and cocktail servers with every Veuve champagne flavors to offer in every corner. The lucky invited to the VIP area, rubbed elbows with celebrities including Isla Fisher, Matt Bomer, Kristen Bell, Lea Michele, Camilla Belle, Michelle Monaghan, Zoey Deutch, Mandy Moore, and many more. If the celeb spotting was not enough, VIP partygoers could walk past just about every fashion blogger snapping selfies and holding the same handbags for some people watching entertainment. But the real treat, once you made it past that red carpet and into the VIP was being treated to the Veuve Clicquot Rich bars. Here bartenders poured the event’s delicious signature cocktails. First, the Clicquot Rich Classic, made with Veuve Clicquot Rich and slices of cucumber. Next, the Rich Rosé Twist, made with Veuve Clicquot Rich Rosé and lime garnish. Veuve Clicquot Rich, an innovative new product inspired by mixology, is designed to be served over ice and mixed with fresh fruits, vegetables or herbs to create unique signature cocktails. Guests like Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Madekwe, and Rocky Barnes found the refreshing cocktails the perfect way to toast to the thrilling match. In addition to Clicquot Rich and Clicquot Rich Rosé cocktails, guests sipped glasses of Yellow Label, Rosé and La Grande Dame.

Over at the Rose Garden, Hollywood’s Entertainment circuit enjoyed the match from another exclusive viewing area at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. Entertainment gurus and digital influencers of the Rosé Garden enjoyed exceptional views of the match, flutes of Veuve Clicquot Rosé and a gourmet lunchbox by Wolfgang Puck Catering. This year, the #FendiRoadTrip made its premier LA stop in the beautiful Rosé Garden, where guests checked out the cherry-red truck in person to see Fendi’s must-have accessories and leather goods.
Now for the masses of general admission, located on the sprawling grassy north side of the field, General Access ticket holders picnicked on the legendary polo grounds, sipped on non-complimentary champagne from multiple Veuve Clicquot champagne bars and dined on(also non-complimentary) gourmet bites from Los Angeles’ best food trucks including Belly BombZ, Cousin’s Maine Lobster, Dogtown Dogs, Green Truck, India Jones Chow Truck, Made in Brooklyn NY Pizza, Southern Kitchen, and more. Sure general admission didn’t sip free flowing #VCRich, or get the perfect backdrops for that Instagram shot on a fashionable vehicle, but groups of friends could come together and gather as a squad, straggle their own grassy patch, throw down a blanket, picnic in true form while sipping the bubbly.
Following the game, the crowd finished off the afternoon by snapping photos in the 3-D photo booth and dancing to music from DJ Nikki Pennie and Brendan Fallis. All in all, guests on every side of the field watched world-renowned polo player Nacho Figueras of team Black Watch take on team Veuve Clicquot for an exciting and action packed polo match. Nacho’s wife Delfina Blaquier played alongside Nacho on team Black Watch and was awarded MVP of the game, leading her team to a 10-8 victory. Cheers!
