Dewar’s gets creative with the 3-B Printing Project
An innovational approach to launching Highlander Honey
A pretty cool project by Dewar’s has been underway for the release of their newest product in their line of Scottish Whiskies – Highlander Honey. The 3-B Printing Project features 80,000 Dewar’s honeybees that created a live sculpture with the help of 3-D printing technology. The bees created two honeycomb art pieces using nothing but their instinctive behavior as a colony. The original 3-D models mimic the bees’ natural environment, in a hive, and allow them to freely construct their natural honeycomb on the primary model. Dewar’s has posted videos on their Facebook page throughout the project. The 3-B Printing Project was launched as a reflection of the craftsmanship that goes into their product built for the drinking man intrigued by innovation.
