DTLA: Library Bar Celebrates 8 Years with New Cocktails

Zero readers love this post.
Library Bar in Downtown Los Angeles is now 8 years old! I remember when it first opened in the Financial District and we’d go down for happy hour. Sometimes we get lost in the pursuit of new bars but there’s always time for tried and true. If you haven’t been back in a while, it’s time to “check out” (ha ha, I love a good pun) Library Bar again in DTLA!
Gosh, I love egg white sours! This tequila one reminded me of a Clover Club. Great stencil design of a wolf paw for that extra nice finish.
Big Bad Wolf – Tequila Cabeza, egg white, agave, raspberries, lime
The First Edition reminded me a bit of a Sazarac with a similar idea of a rinse of booze. In this case, Library Bar goes for some heavily peated Scotch, Laphroaig. The spicy Wiser’s rye worked very well with the orange flavored Bigallet China-China (pronounced kina-kina) Amer.
First Edition – Wiser’s rye, Bigallet China-China Amer, Laphroaig rinse
It you want something more fun and not so serious (it’s not a real library, after all), go for the tropical Pirate’s Booty. If you love ginger beer (I’m looking at you Moscow Mule drinkers), you’ll like this drink.
