Shaking is the most direct route to adding style to your cocktailing. Sure it has it's functional uses, like chilling, diluting and adding texture to your drink, all essential components to the perfect cocktail. And you want to make sure you're comfortable handling a shaker so that your or your guest doesn't end up wearing it's contents when you let it rip.

But once you've got the basics down your shake is all your own and a little showmanship goes a long way. Of course you don't want to overshadow what's inside the tin, but if you can turn heads before serving a drink, you've delivered more than just refreshment.
