The last time I was in Las Vegas, I checked out El Segundo Sol. I was in town for Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America convention and I love it when it’s in Vegas because we can check out the local restaurants and bars. One night we went to a private tequila tasting for Perfectomundo Tequila. I loved the private room at El Segundo Sol. It’s an intimate space and while it doesn’t feel like it’s as extensive as say Las Perlas in Los Angeles, it’s good for a place on the Strip. El Segundo Sol is actually located at the Fashion Show Mall. It’s actually part of the A Lettuce Entertain You Restaurant group.

We also had a number of snacks at the tasting including these chicken taquitos that were served on lettuce cups. I was really tempted to wrap them up and eat them like Vietnamese egg rolls which are served with lettuce.

The chicken quesadillas were filling and we made sure we lined our stomachs with food before we started the tasting.

I’m glad to have come across the Perfectomundo tequila tasting at El Segundo Sol. They received a couple of medals at this past lWSWA. Having judged spirits at WSWA in the past, I can say the judges are absolutely fair in their estimation.

We tasted the silver, reposado and anejo expressions of Perfectomundo tequila. The silver was actually favorite and would be ideal for mixing.

It’s a good idea to keep El Segundo Sol in your back pocket for the next time someone is craving fairly classic Mexican food. And you don’t even have to leave the strip!
