Lavender Southside

Three readers love this post.
This is my signature twist on the classic Southside cocktail. I've been making this for years for patrons however I haven't gotten around to showcasing it properly, this post should certainly remedy that. The lavender component I use is an extract which is house-made simply by oversteeping lavender in a 40 abv. neutral spirit for a couple days. A few drops should do the trick but be warned it is very potent. I hope you folks like it. Cheer!
Ingredients;
- 2oz London dry gin
- 1/2oz Mint syrup
- 1oz Fresh lime juice
- 5 dashes house-made lavender extract
Prep;
Combine all ingredients to mixing tin, add ice and shake well. Fine strain into coupeete glass and garnish with a floating slapped and fresh mint leaf. Cheers
