Extra Tips : When you buy red wine, consider buying organic red wine. More and more winemakers are producing their wine from organic grapes, which means no herbicides or pesticides are used and will get into your system. These grape farmers instead work with the biodiversity of their vineyards instead of against it.
For example, the vineyard owners introduce cover crops, providing a habitat for beneficial insects that are the natural enemy of problem species. Others use small sheep to graze between the vine rows, eating the grass and weeds. This way, the vineyard becomes a self-regulating, natural ecosystem, that is able to combat its own problems, eliminating the need for artificial and toxic chemicals.
