Jake Brookes in an interview with Channel 10 after his failed wedding ceremony.

Here’s a sad wedding story from Australia. The 41-year old musician Jake Brookes apparently had one hell of a bachelor night in Exeter (Adelaide), because he was found “too drunk” for his own wedding ceremony the day after. Reverend Ian Hunter of the Exeter Uniting Church simply refused to seal the deal on his marriage, saying it was ‘unethical’. But that wasn’t all. When things had heated up, the police entered the church shortly after to arrest the groom. He was charged with disorderly behaviour and resisting arrest. His fiance then blew off the wedding completely, leaving Brookes broken hearted. In an interview with ABC after the trial on Thursday Brookes says he misses his ex-fiance a lot, but also: “She wants me to be the best I can possibly be… I had my bucks night the night before bro. I mean come on, we are all men here.”
