The next time you’re at the bar uploading a selfie to Facebook, your app might notify you beforehand to say you’re, um… looking a little wasted.

The Facebook Artificial Intelligence Research Lab (FAIR) is developing technology that will soon be able to tell when you’re drunk, thanks to algorithms that analyze everything from the words you type to the way your face looks to the friends you take photos with. The goal of having a digital assistant butt in before you post, as described by FAIR overseer Yann LeCun, is to give users even more control over the information they share—and choose not to share—online.

The new technology would be an advancement on Facebook’s face-recognition that automatically tags your photos. Additionally, FAIR’s algorithms are responsible for the way your feed displays content you are most likely to click on.

The digital drunk assistant is already in development by the company and is in line with the tech world’s current obsession with deep learning—the kind of artificial intelligence that attempts to mimic the human brain.
