Jaime Windon is pretty much the  definition of a babe. She’s a world traveler through her work as a journalist and the blonde photographer. She has even run a bed and breakfast. And now, with her partner Ben Lyon, she’s producing rum and whiskey as Lyon Distilling in the quaint Chesapeake Bay town of St. Michaels, Maryland.

Once I found her commenting on Rum Day DC photos as the Blonde Boozehound on Instagram, I knew we would hit hit it off, so I reached out pronto to collaborate on a series of events in the region (be sure you sign up for my email list on the home page to know when they’re coming up).

The first one: Lyon Distilling will host a signing of my new book, Booze for Babes: the Smart Woman’s Guide to Drinking Spirits Right on Thursday, April 17 from 6-8 p.m., when we’ll also taste several of their new products that include rum, corn whiskey and the first rye distilled in Maryland in over 40 years. Jaime and Ben will also give tours of the distillery for those who want to see how their whiskies go from farm to bottle. You can only buy these products at the distillery,  so get ‘em while you can! If you’ve been meaning to take a trip out to St. Michaels, or you just want to escape for a little bit as the weather perks up around the Bay, now’s the time!

With or without you, Jaime and I are going to be celebrating ladies who write about booze and those who make it too. But it’d be even more fun if you came (because the more, the merrier). So get your tickets now, give us a shout on Facebook and Twitter to let us know you’re coming, and bring your friends! We can’t wait to mingle with you, share our joie de vivre,  and chat over drinks. We can even give you restaurant recommendations for dinner afterwards, so there really is no excuse not to be there.

See you for Thirsty Thursday on April 17!
