cocktail-1 The celebration returns for its sixth annual presentation

SACRAMENTO, CA – Next Wednesday, Midtown Cocktail Week creators Erick Castro and Joe Anthony Savala will celebrate the start of their 6th annual weeklong celebration that brings together a population of local bartenders, fine spirits, fresh products, and artisan cocktails. Celebrating and promoting Sacramento’s artisan cocktail movement, MCW will feature nightly events and pop-ups at a variety of restaurants throughout the city including Hook & Ladder Manufacturing CO., Blackbird, Grange, and Red Rabbit – each of which who have been making tremendous efforts in the city’s movement. Educational events begin on Thursday night with highlights that include presentations by celebrated cocktail historian and writer David Wondrich and ‘Drunken Botanist’ author, Amy Stewart.

In the week, Aug 21st through August 25th, the city will be live with cocktail inspiration with the bounty of unique events popping up all over town. It is rather evident that the spark in Sacramento has attracted some of the most inspirational cocktail minds from communities across the country. The event presented by Midtown Business Association, in partnership with Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau, Sacramento365.com, Mutineer Magazine, Bols, and The Citizen Hotel is shaping up to be worth the trip this week no matter where you call home. Kaiseki Dinner- Traditional Kaiseki dinner by Chef Billy Ngo and Chef Brian Mizner

Hook & Ladder Manufacturing Company, 1630 S Street, Sacramento

Kaiseki or kaiseki-ryōri  is a traditional multi-course Japanese dinner. The term also refers to the collection of skills and techniques that allow the preparation of such meals, and are analogous to Western haute cuisine. Featuring the Yamazaki, Hakushu and Hibiki whiskies of Suntory. Will also feature Sake, Japanese beer, Japanese tea service and a Koto performance.

It Takes Two to Tiki Event & Bartender Cocktail Competition, Diplomatico

Red Rabbit Kitchen & Bar, 2718 J Street, Sacramento

Join Red Rabbit for It Takes Two to Tiki. Event will include a three legged race style tiki cocktail competition, Aloha Polynesia dancers and delectable tiki and tropical concoctions whipped up all night by some of Sacramento’s best craft bartenders. Exotic sounds from far away lands & atmospheric ambient fx provided by Shaun Slaughter.
