The Bay Area just seems awash in tequila and mezcal lately. And you can add two more specialized tastings to the list this week: Sunday, November 16 at Oakland’s Tamarindo, and Monday, November 17 at SF’s La Urbana.

First up, Tamarindo hosts its second annual Mezcal & Tequila Festival, featuring spirits and cocktails from the likes of Suerte, Wahaka, Fidencio, Tosba, Don Julio, Alipus, Mezcalero, Siete Leguas, Don Amado, Seleccion Arte Nom, and more. Chef Gloria Dominguez will serve up Jaliscan and Oaxacan specialties as well. Get tickets here.

The following day, on the other side of the Bay Bridge, La Urbana welcomes Mezcal Pierde Almas for a full tasting seminar as part of their regular Mezcal Collective series of events. This one takes place in the restaurant’s Garage next door, and promises to be an education in the amazing mezcals that Jonathan Barbieri’s team makes in Oaxaca. Secure a spot here.
